End of Season Awards

The Cardiff Eagles brought the 2025 season to a close by celebrating the achievements of players across the squad at the club’s End of Season Awards.

After a memorable year on and off the ice, the awards recognised commitment, development, and standout performances throughout the campaign. Players, coaches, and sponsors all played a key role in making it a successful season, and the evening, held at The Pilot, was a chance to reflect on that shared effort and continued backing of the club.

Ben Cowie (#29) was named Coaches’ Player of the Season, an award that reflects his consistency, work ethic, and impact whenever called upon. The Most Improved Defence award went to Jack Shimmel (#74), whose development and confidence grew significantly over the course of the season, while Kian Rogers (#71) picked up Most Improved Forward after a strong year of progression and increasing influence in games.

James Goddard (#88) was recognised with the Coaches’ Defence award, highlighting his reliability and defensive contributions throughout the campaign. Jonny Morgan (#10) rounded out the awards night with a standout double honour, being named both Players’ Player and Coaches’ Forward, a clear sign of the respect he has earned from teammates and coaches alike.

Congratulations to all of this season’s award winners and to the entire Eagles squad for another strong year. The club would also like to thank its sponsors, Kärcher Centre - Aqua Air Jetting Equipment and The Pilot, Penarth for their continued support throughout the season, which plays a vital role in everything achieved on and off the ice. With plenty to be proud of, the Eagles now look ahead to building on this momentum going into next season.
